Baked Jalapeno Poppers

I first came across Jalapeno PoppersĀ on a recent business trip to Philadelphia. So I did a quick search for recipes and combined them into this one which uses ingredients easily available in the UK.

Instructions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 C / Gas mark 4 / 375 F
  2. Slice peppers in half lengthways and remove the seeds
  3. Combine cream cheese, grated cheddar and oregano. Spoon it into the pepper halves. Don't overfill.
  4. Put the halves back together and tightly wrap each one with a bacon rasher.
  5. Place on a baking tray and bake for 20 minutes. Grill under a hot grill for a further 10 minutes or until bacon is good and crispy.
Recipe Notes

I'm looking forward to developing this recipe. Current ideas include adding a little garlic to the cheese mix and trying some different cheeses. I wonder if brie would work in place of the cream cheese?
